Frank Torre, Vice Chairman of PuroClean and Co-CEO of Signal Restoration Services, once again united the community as host of the 2025 Applied Underwriter Invitational, benefitting Hope Ignites Detroit. Focused on community initiatives, held at the world-renowned Oakland Hills Country Club, and sponsored by Applied Underwriters, the day-long event featured a spirited golf tournament, a celebratory dinner, and a silent auction, all dedicated to funding programs that provide young people with the support, stability, and opportunities they need to thrive.

For Torre, Hope Ignites Detroit represents more than a cause, it’s a cornerstone of his commitment to community enrichment. The nonprofit helps motivated youth from disadvantaged backgrounds achieve their full potential by providing education, mentorship, and resources for success. The programs funded through this outing ensure these young people have not just access to opportunity, but the guidance and stability to make it possible.

Torre’s dedication extends beyond youth initiatives to another vital group—transitioning military U.S. veterans. The PuroVet Program, a PuroClean initiative, helps veterans transition into franchise ownership. In partnership with the National Veteran Business Development Council (NVBDC), PuroClean Franchise Owners can be certified as a veteran-owned business, ensuring they have access to supplier diversity networks, resources, and growth opportunities.

During the evening program, Torre recognized community leaders who share his dedication to service, including Brigadier General (Ret.) Dick Miller, President of NVBDC; Sid E. Taylor, NVBDC Board Member; Colonel Mark Gerhard; Nat Paluzzi, Michigan President of AMVETS; and a representative from the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Torre also honored Keith King, Founder & CEO of NVBDC, who was unable to attend. Supporting the event were Steve White, President and COO of PuroClean and a U.S. military veteran, along with leaders from PuroClean headquarters, reinforcing the company’s deep commitment to community initiatives.

“Whether it’s providing opportunity for young people or empowering veterans, it’s about building a stronger community,” said Steve White, President and COO of PuroClean. “Events like this show what’s possible when we come together to lift each other up.”

This year’s outing made a meaningful contribution to the nonprofit’s mission of nurturing and guiding motivated young people in need to become well-educated, career-ready men and women committed to serving others. Over the past 15 years, Torre’s leadership and fundraising efforts have generated nearly $13 million, delivering vital resources, mentorship, and encouragement to help young people in the program, and the communities around them, thrive.

“Hosting the Invitational is both an honor and a privilege,” said Frank Torre. “Our mission is to open doors, build bridges, and create opportunity for those who need it most. From helping kids reach their potential to supporting our veterans, every initiative we back strengthens the fabric of our community.”
