Frank Torre, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Detroit Medical Center’s Rehabilitation Institute Michigan, recently attended a groundbreaking ceremony for the Institute’s new sports medicine facility in Detroit, Michigan.

The new $65 million five-story sports medicine facility, located in District Detroit, will enable the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan to further its medical research into cutting edge treatments and will serve professional athletes from the Detroit Red Wings, the Detroit Tigers, and the Detroit Pistons. The new facility, located in District Detroit, is part of a sprawling sports and entertainment complex anchored by the Little Caesars Sports Arena.

Mr. Torre was joined by the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan CEO Patty Jobbit and DMC physicians Dr. Bryan Little and Dr. Stephen Lemos to officially mark the commencement of construction of the Institute’s new sports rehab, research and simulation services facility.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the new Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan Sports Medicine Facility took place inside Wayne State University’s Mike Ilitch School of Business.
